We are at home at present and I have been using some of the time preparing the ground for a trip across the Wash from the River Nene, Wisbech to Boston. Things are coming together nicely and our window for the double daylight tides, for departure and arrival, is between 30th July and 6th August.
If anybody is interested, or knows of somebody who may be interested in joining us on the passage please get in touch via this blog and we can take it from there.
It seems that we may have chosen a good time to be at home as I expect the River Nene will be rising after all this rain. Hopefully all will be normal by the time we get back to the boat.
Peterborough in different times.
A busy tide at Wisbech. I don't expect to meet such traffic on our trip.
Timber and saw lill along with the swing bridge at Sutton Bridge.
I'm sure that this will be a welcome sight as we run up through Boston to get to the lock and onto the tide free River Witham.
If anybody is interested, or knows of somebody who may be interested in joining us on the passage please get in touch via this blog and we can take it from there.

Yes!
But in the other direction.
We're currently moored on the Witham trying to get to Boston but there's quite a lot of water here at the moment(!) The word is the next lock, Bardney, is underwater.
Even if we get to Boston for our booked tidal window, looking at the weather forecast I think we might be bowled out by the wind.
But it alll beats working for a living.

Yes there is a lot of water about isn't there!! As I say we picked the right week to come home it seems. It looks like after about 15th to the 20th your next window would be 1st to 5th July. That's a long time to hang about near Boston. Mind you plenty of pubs there. You never know we could bump into each other on the Great Ouse or there abouts. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.
Cheers for now, Tony
